I went down to the lake To clear my head I watched the clouds roll by I went down to the lake There was a thought I had But it went away I watched the clouds go by Until they went away The autumn air wrapped around me Like a hug and a warning It's gonna get real dark But you can survive I went down to the lake And I made sure No one was there I went down to the lake And I wished That someone was there I wanted to be alone But not be lonely I went down to the lake Looking for answers I went down to the lake Expecting nothing And that's what I wanted Well I never never thought That I'd get this far And now the days go by Without me knowing Well I never never thought That I'd stick around For anybody But here I am
I'm a skeleton in a skin bag And my poor little brain Has a case of jet lag From all the times its changed I'm in pain But not the kind you can explain There's an alarm clock Always ringing A white noise song That helps the time move along. I've got nothing but my love to give But I can't give it to myself, no. Sometimes I wake up sad And it's like riding on an airplane, Once the ride begins, You just gotta strap in And let it happen. And the scenery is beautiful But it all starts to look the same From the viewpoint Of my sadness plane. And the air service Only serves nachos and beer. It feels good until it doesn't. And you still have to live with it. Strap in, buckle up. Tune out, get down.
