i moved to allentown eastern pennsylvania
MR FRIEEMFT WOKE UP AND HEARD THIS STRANGE NOISE
i'm worried about the water
HE"S WORRIED ABOUT WHAT IT IS
i like being near my family.
AND HE SAID "WHO OR WHAT IS IT?"
i like the forest here
HE RAN TO THE COUCH THERE
i like the mountains here
AND JAMIE PENCE WAS SITTING THERE
i walk to the grocery store
I ASKED HER "WHAT WAS WRONG?"
when i feel motivated.
SHE TOLD ME, "THE RADIO AINT WORKING
it's a little different this time.
CAN YOU CALL THE COMPANY?"
it's a little different every time.
ITS NOT PICKING ANYTHING UP
i hear they're building some real tall buildings
I THINK YOU SHOULD GO IN AND GET IT CHECKED OUT
i'm worried about something
I THINK I SHOULD CALL YOU A TAXI
these rents hikes are alarming
I THINK YOU MIGHT HAVE TO GO FAR
but i like the mountains here
I THINK YOU MIGHT HAVE TO GO TO SIOUX FALLS
do you read the newspaper? sometimes i do
DO YOU REMEMBER WHAT BRAND IT IS? I THINK I DO
i moved to allentown eastern pennsylvania

In January 2015 I wrote a song called "City Without Limits Theme Song" that was more of a diary entry than a song. I had become bemused and amused by the aggressive re-branding campaign of my new home city (Allentown, PA - I moved there in October, 2014) and decided to write my own personal theme song.
-----------------------
On a whim, I decided to see if anyone was interested in covering the song without ever having heard it (my recording was not yet finished and I hadn't played it for anyone) - I sent chords and lyrics to anyone who asked for them. I urged people to change/add/subtract anything they wanted from the song. 90 versions of the song later, my expectations have been blown away.
------------------------
I think this compilation is a really interesting exercise in how much possibility there is in raw data. The folks who participated in this compilation have made this song very serious, very funny, and very strange. this song, for me, was a diary entry with three strange chords. for everyone else, it was a creative exploration and it's really really neat. I've tried to provide as much info as I could on everyone who participated so that hopefully you can check out more of what they do if you like what they did with this song.
------------------------
I highly recommend downloading this album and putting in on shuffle/mixing it into playlists so you hear everything in digestible chunks.
